Old-Fashioned Pumpkin Pie
Ingredients - 1 can pumpkin, (1 pound, 13 ounces)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 3 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- unbaked pie pastry, in deep 10-inch pan or two 9-inch pans
Directions - Set oven for moderate, 350f.
- Combine first 8 ingredients; mi: well.
- Combine evaporated milk and cream; heat to scalding point, add; mix well.
- Pour into unbaked pie shell.
- Bake 1 1/4 hours for deep 10-inch pie; about 1 hour for 9- inch pies.
- Pie is done when knife inserted near rim comes out clean.
