  Pecan Pie
  Ingredients  
  • 1   unbaked 9-inch pie shell
  • 1/2  cup  butter, or margarine
  • 1  cup  sugar
  • 3    eggs, slightly beaten
  • 3/4  cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/4  teaspoon  salt
  • 1  teaspoon  vanilla
  • 1 1/2  cup chopped pecans
  • whole pecan, meats

  Directions  
  • Chill pie shell thoroughly.
  • Set oven for moderate, 375f.
  • Cream butter or margarine.
  • Add sugar gradually and continue beating until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs, syrup, salt, vanilla, and chopped nuts.
  • Pour into pie shell.
  • Bake 40 to 45 minutes.
  • Garnish with whole nuts.
  • Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
