Pecan Pie
Ingredients - 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
- 1/2 cup butter, or margarine
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 eggs, slightly beaten
- 3/4 cup dark corn syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- whole pecan, meats
Directions - Chill pie shell thoroughly.
- Set oven for moderate, 375f.
- Cream butter or margarine.
- Add sugar gradually and continue beating until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs, syrup, salt, vanilla, and chopped nuts.
- Pour into pie shell.
- Bake 40 to 45 minutes.
- Garnish with whole nuts.
- Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
