Molasses Walnut CookiesYield: 60 cookies
Ingredients - 3 1/2 cup sifted enriched flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 3 tablespoon water
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Directions - Mix and sift flour, salt, and baking soda; set aside.
- Beat shortening until creamy; add sugar gradually; continue beating until light.
- Stir in molasses and water.
- Add eggs; beat well.
- Add flour mixture and nuts to egg mixture: mix well.
- Cover; chill 2 hours.
- Set oven for hot, 400f.
- Drop dough by tablespoons on greased baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
