Ginger Snaps
Ingredients - 1 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, or lard
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon baking soda, (pearlash equivalent)
- 1 tablespoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon salt, if lard is used
Directions - Put molasses, sugar and ginger together, rub pearlash fine and stir into them.
- When it foams, add water and lard, then flour enough for a stiff dough.
- Knead well, roll into thin sheets and bake at 350°
