  Easy Devil's Food Cake
  Ingredients  

• 1 1/2  cup sifted enriched flour
• 3/4  teaspoon  baking soda
• 1/4  teaspoon  salt
• 3    eggs, well beaten
• 1 1/2  cup  sugar
• 3/4  cup melted shortening
• 1 1/2  teaspoon  vanilla
• 3   squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
• 3/4  cup  milk
  

  Directions  

• Set oven for moderate, 350f.
• Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
• Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt.
• Combine eggs and sugar.
• Add shortening, vanilla, and chocolate and stir to mix well.
• Add sifted dry ingredients, a little at a time, alternately with milk.
• Pour into pans.
• Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until top springs back when lightly touched with fingertip.
• Cool in pans 5 minutes.
• Remove to a rack; cool.
• Frost as desired.
