Jiffy Coffee CakeYield: 1 cake
Ingredients - 1 1/3 cup biscuit mix
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoon shortening, softened
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2/3 cup milk
- 3 tablespoon melted butter, or margarine
- 1/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 tablespoon cream
- 1/3 cup finely chopped walnuts
Directions - Set oven for moderate, 350f.
- Grease 8-inch square pan.
- Combine biscuit mix and sugar.
- Add shortening, egg, vanilla, and 1/3 cup milk.
- Beat 1 minute.
- Gradually stir in remaining milk.
- Turn into pan.
- Bake about 30 minutes or till light brown.
- Meanwhile mix remaining ingredients.
- Spread on baked cake.
- Broil 3 inches from heat for 3 minutes or till topping browns.
- Cut in squares.
