ECONOMY DEVIL’S FOOD CAKE ⅓ cup butter ¾ cup sugar 1 egg, unbeaten 1 Economy Size Bar (7 oz.) Nestlé’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate ½ cup thick sour cream ¾ cup sweet milk 2 cups sifted cake flour 1 teaspoon soda ½ teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon vanilla
Melt chocolate in double boiler, cream butter and sugarthoroughly. Add egg, mix well, and stir in the melted chocolate.Mix in sour cream.
Sift dry ingredients together three times, add alternatelywith milk. Mix well. Add vanilla.
Bake in two well-greased 9″ pans at 350° F. for 35 minutes.
Serve with Orange Filling and Frosting.
