Today I had no lunch plans so I went to the local thrift store.
I found a adorable ceramic rabbit with a basket on his back, he is about 12 inches tall. Will make super cute spring decor.
I found 2 mens shirts to use for the fabric on the color of the week, so they were 99cents. One was a black and white check and the other a red and blue check which I know will be great for some patriotic finishing.
I also found 2 puzzles for my mom.
Total spent $7 and lots of fun searching

I do on a rare occasion. The last time I went I found a ton of new eyelash yarn that was 10 cents a skein. I bought them all but not worked with them yet.

Today I stopped in a thrift on the way to visit my mom. I found a red leather Coach hand bag, I may keep (if my laptop fits) or resale if not.
I also got a plum top on the 99 cent rack that was beautiful lace work, I already have a project in mind to use some of the lace.

Back in the day I LOVED visiting these stores (even volunteered in one - you're talking charity shops?). Books were my weakness, especially cookery books.  Now here even their prices have gone up too much
I did once buy a tchotchke and after I got it home I found a beautiful real silver celtic knot brooch underneath it.  A good day.

Yes, charity shops. I also love yard/garage sales.  Once I bought a pair of jeans for $2 and found a $50 bill in the pocket. That was a fun find!!

My favorite surprise finds:
Bought a purse I liked, When i was cleaning it out at home, I found a tiny little bag in a pocket - with a few pieces of gold and precious stone jewelry in.
Bought a sticker pouch (From Simply Gilded - IYKYK) and when I got it home there was an envelope in the zipper pocket. It had a $100 bill in it... I think it was probably a gift that someone didn't thoroughly investigate!
Our local library had a craft-swap day - and I got a floor stand!

I go occasionally when I can. Prices have gone somewhat ridiculously high here for lots of things so I don't always end up buying. This year I managed to get some lovely craft books from one place.
