Lemon SauceYield: 3 cups
Ingredients - 2 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoon grated lemon, peel
- 2 cup water
- 1/4 cup lemon, juice
- 1/4 cup butter, or margarine
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions - Combine cornstarch, sugar, and lemon peel in 1-quart saucepan.
- Add water slowly.
- Stir over medium heat until thickened.
- Remove from heat; add remaining ingredients.
- Good with plain cake (cottage pudding), fruit cobblers, etc.
