Easy Devil's Food CakeIngredients
[*]1 1/2cup sifted enriched flour
[*]3/4teaspoonbaking soda
[*]1/4teaspoonsalt
[*]3 eggs, well beaten
[*]1 1/2cupsugar
[*]3/4cup melted shortening
[*]1 1/2teaspoonvanilla
[*]3 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
[*]3/4cupmilk
Directions
[*]Set oven for moderate, 350f.
[*]Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
[*]Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt.
[*]Combine eggs and sugar.
[*]Add shortening, vanilla, and chocolate and stir to mix well.
[*]Add sifted dry ingredients, a little at a time, alternately with milk.
[*]Pour into pans.
[*]Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until top springs back when lightly touched with fingertip.
[*]Cool in pans 5 minutes.
[*]Remove to a rack; cool.
[*]Frost as desired.
