Chocolate Date Nut Cake

CHOCOLATE DATE NUT CAKE¼ cup butter1 cup sugar2 eggs, beaten1 Economy Size Bar (7 oz.) Nestlé’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate2½ cups sifted all-purpose flour3 teaspoons baking powder¼ teaspoon salt1 teaspoon cinnamon½ teaspoon nutmeg¾ cup milk1 teaspoon vanilla1 cup chopped dates½ cup chopped walnuts
Melt chocolate in double boiler.
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and melted chocolate,mix thoroughly.
Sift together flour, salt, baking powder and spices threetimes. Add to chocolate mixture alternately with milk.
Beat well. Add vanilla, dates and nuts.
Bake in greased loaf tin at 375° F. 40 to 45 minutes.
