Crumb Cookies
Crumb CookiesYield: 4 1/2 dozen, two inches in diameterIngredients
[*]1/4cupshortening, (2 ounces)
[*]6tablespoonsugar, (3 ounces)
[*]2 1/2cupflour, (10 ounces)
[*]1/4teaspoonsalt
[*]2teaspoonbaking soda
[*]2teaspooncinnamon
[*]1/2teaspoonginger
[*]1/2teaspoonallspice
[*]1/4teaspooncloves
[*]2 2/3cup dry bread crumbs, (8 ounces)
[*]1/2cupmolasses
[*]1/2cupevaporated milk
Directions
[*]Cream shortening.
[*]Add sugar and continue creaming until light and fluffy.
[*]Sift flour, then measure.
[*]Resift with salt, soda and spices, then add the bread crumbs.
[*]Combine molasses and milk, and add alternately with the dry ingredients to the creamed shortening and sugar, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
[*]Roll out on slightly floured board.
[*]Cut with cookie cutter.
[*]Place cookies on a greased baking sheet and bake in a slow oven (300f) 15 minutes.
