Lemon Sauce for Cakes
Lemon SauceYield: 3 cupsIngredients

[*]1cupsugar
[*]2teaspoon grated lemon, peel
[*]2cupwater
[*]1/4cuplemon, juice
[*]1/4cupbutter, or margarine
[*]1/4teaspoonsalt
Directions
[*]Combine cornstarch, sugar, and lemon peel in 1-quart saucepan.
[*]Add water slowly.
[*]Stir over medium heat until thickened.
[*]Remove from heat; add remaining ingredients.
[*]Good with plain cake (cottage pudding), fruit cobblers, etc.
