Chocolate Marble Cake
CHOCOLATE MARBLE CAKE1 Economy Size Bar (7 oz.) Nestlé’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate½ cup butter1 cup sugar2 eggs well beaten2 cups sifted cake flour3 teaspoons baking powder½ teaspoon salt¾ cup milk1 teaspoon vanillagrated rind of one orangeMelt chocolate in double boiler.
Cream together butter and sugar.
Add eggs, beat well.
Sift flour, salt and baking powder three times. Add flourmixture alternately with milk. Mix after each addition. Addvanilla.
Divide batter in half. To one half, add grated rind; toother half, add melted chocolate.
Place alternate spoonfuls of the two batters side by sidein greased loaf tin. Cut through batter with a spatula severaltimes in each direction.
Bake at 350° F. for about 50 minutes.
