[Technique] The "Magic Knot": Do you trust it? 🪄

I have a serious question about joining new yarn.

I watch videos of people using the Magic Knot and cutting the tails super close to the knot. It looks so clean and fast!
But honestly... I have trust issues. 🤡
I am terrified that after one wash, the knot will slip and the whole blanket will unravel. I still weave in my ends the traditional way (painfully slow).
Do you use the Magic Knot for paid orders/gifts? Has it ever failed you?

Nope. Weave in your ends. I thought I was smart knotting my ends. My sweater accidentally ended up in the washer. Came right apart.

I do not trust it and prefer to do the chains.

I much prefer the surgeons knot! The magic knot comes undone on me almost every time I try it

I always weave in my ends and never use knots, have heard too many horror stories

I had to redo granny squares for my first blanket because some of them unraveled (it was a gift for my bf, luckly he's not very observant so I noticed before him and had the time to hide the mistake lol). I suggest to always weave in your ends, it's boring but worth it!
